Reasons to Sunless Tan with COOLA

A huge part of sun protection is avoiding it where possible and using the appropriate protection measures during exposure. However, this can be difficult for sun-lovers like ourselves! We know how appealing it is to go out on a beautiful summer day, soak up the sun, and get a gorgeous natural tan. We also know how damaging this can be for our skin and our bodies. A great way to achieve stunning and natural results is by choosing SUNLESS!
There are so many benefits to using COOLA Sunless Tan products and we want our customers to fully understand WHY to choose sunless tanning and WHY NOT to choose alternative and damaging tanning methods, such as tanning beds or other traditional ways of tanning.
1. SKIN CANCER PREVENTION
How could we not start off with the high risk of skin cancer from sun exposure. Exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays – from the sun or from artificial sources like tanning beds – is the most common cause of skin cancer. UV rays cause skin cancer by creating changes in the cells of your skin. In some cases, the UV rays cause direct damage to your cells. Tans and sunburns, for example, are both signs that UV rays have damaged your skin. In other cases, UV rays cause skin cancer indirectly, by weakening the immune system.

A quick COOLA history: Our story began when Chris (our CEO & Founder) was living in Southern California and his parents were both diagnosed with melanoma. Inspired by the healthy California lifestyle around him, he wanted an effective, organic skin protection that felt nice enough to use everyday. 2. SUN AGEING
90% of skin ageing is caused by the sun. This includes, but is not limited to:
Pigmentation (Sun spots, Melasma/Chloasma, Age/Liver spots, Freckles, etc.)
Wrinkles, Fine Lines, and Deep Creases

The image below shows the effects of sun damage on the skin when unprotected. Truck driver, Bill McElligott, 69, who has unilateral dermatoheliosis, according to The New England Journal of Medicine. Essentially, ultraviolet A (UVA) rays transmitted through the window of his delivery truck and severely damaged the skin on the left side of his face during the 28 years he has spent driving on the job. The right side of his face, which remained in the shade, is FAR more youthful.
